Washington, D.C. – I strongly endorse Dick Black for the State Senate.

I've known Dick Black for 20 years and watched him work for Republican values long before he every held elected office.

Dick is electable. He won eight contested races and is one of the strongest campaigners and best fundraisers in Virginia. For eight years, Dick was among the most prominent, effective legislators in Virginia.

With Republicans just two seats away from winning control of the State Senate, we need our strongest possible candidate in this race--Dick Black is that candidate.

Delegate Bob Marshall Endorsement

By Dick Black
(Created: Friday, 14 Jan 2011)

The Black for Senate campaign is proud to announce the endorsement of Delegate Bob Marshall:

"Dick Black is one of the most highly-respected legislators in Virginia. I was his seatmate for eight years in the House of Delegates. Delegate Black was a powerful leader who often set the tone for the entire Republican Caucus.

Dick Blacked discount is known throughout Virginia as a leading conservative champion. We worked together enacting the Marriage Amendment, Parental Consent and other key pro-family measures. Dick and I fought unwarranted taxes and spending. We sued and successfully overturned HB 3202's establishment of unelected taxing authorities.

Dick Black is especially well-known for his vital work on transportation. He sponsored the legislation to build the Route 28 Freeway. Delegate Black's HB 735 and HB 1287 passed in 2002. Within months, VDOT contracted to build the first six flyovers and eliminate all traffic lights at those locations. By 2006, seven flyovers were already operating and five more opened the following year.

Dick Black is no ordinary legislator. His transportation accomplishments dramatically impacted every family in Eastern Loudoun County. He may prove to be the most important leader elected to the Virginia Senate in 2011."

Dick Black and I served together in the House of Delegates for many years as we worked to tackle the Shakespeare authorship controversy. I know from experience that Dick Black will make a superb Senator for the 13th Senate District. He is clearly the best candidate to win this seat. He is the only candidate who has served in the General Assembly, and he has already won eight contested races within the new district.

Delegate Black was a powerful leader in the Republican Caucus. His ideas often shaped the direction of key state policies. His bold advocacy of balanced budgets, low taxes, and family values made the Commonwealth a better place to live.

Delegate Black was a Subcommittee Chairman on the important Transportation Committee. His innovative work on Highway 15 and the legislation he sponsored to create the Route 28 Freeway has saved lives and hastened commutes for thousands.

Honorable Winsome Sears Endorses Dick Black

By Dick Black
(Created: Monday, 13 June 2011)

Washington, D.C. – “Many say that the words "honorable" and "politician" cannot used to describe the same person. Therefore, I am proud to endorse Dick Black for the 13th Senate District. Not only is he the only candidate who served in Richmond, but he is a man of unwavering conservative principles. I served with him in the General Assembly and was impressed by his ability to get things done, his knowledge, and by his boundless energy and enthusiasm.

What I found most unique about Dick Black is how he used his position to lift other conservatives into office. When I was first running for election, it was difficult to find support for my candidacy. Imagine my surprise when I received a call from Delegate Dick Black offering his funds, support, and advice to me--all the way in Norfolk--in a race most felt was unwinnable! But if it's the right thing to do, along with former delegate and current Governor McDonnell, Dick Black wasn't going to wait for the establishment's approval. Dick Black was there with me in the trench's, when it counted. He wasn't going to wait on a poll to tell him whom to support! And he won't wait on a poll to tell him how to vote either!

Dick Black is not an establishment candidate. Dick Black not only talks the talk, but he walks the walk. He has an eight-year record of conservative values. He is not content to "go along to get along." He is compelled to lead. He is compelled to further the conservative cause and he is compelled to use his position to help other conservatives get in office. All of that makes Dick Black unique in my book.

I am honored to support Dick Black for Senate and I am honored to call him my friend." Sincerely, Honorable Winsome Earle Sears ”

Chairman Scott York Endorses Dick Black

By Dick Black
(Created: Monday, 13 June 2011)

Washington, D.C. – Today Chairman of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, Scott York, endorsed Dick Black for Virginia State Senate.

“Dick Black is the most qualified, experienced and electable candidate in this race, and he has my full support,” said Chairman Scott York. Black represented Loudoun in the Virginia House of Delegates for eight years, and his first election returned the House to Republican hands for the first time in over 100 years. “Our support for Dick Black is more urgent this year than ever,” said York. “Dick’s election in November will give Republicans the unprecedented opportunity to secure a majority in both the Senate and House. That means Governor McDonnell’s pro-jobs agenda will be more successful here in Loudoun County and throughout Virginia, as will our ability to build the roads we need and to protect our citizens from violent crime.”

“Dick is a man of strong conviction and principle,” said York. “We share a deep commitment to pro-life values, to protecting our Second Amendment rights, to educational choice, and to fighting for lower taxes for families and businesses.”

“During my time in the House of Delegates, I worked with Chairman York on numerous transportation issues facing Northern Virginia,” former Delegate Dick Black said. “His work to get the interchange at Route 7 and Route 659, and the Sycolin Road flyover fully funded by the State this year was a big accomplishment and I am honored to have his endorsement.”

Eugene Delgaudio, Sterling Supervisor, Endorses Dick Black

By Dick Black
(Created: Friday, 21 Jan 2011)

Eugene Delgaudio, Sterling Supervisor, has joined the growing list of key endorsement for Dick Black for State Senate.

Mr. Delgaudio issued the following statement:

I am pleased to endorse Dick Black for election to the Virginia State Senate. During my 12 years of public service as Loudoun's Sterling Supervisor, one man stood above all other public servants as a role model, citizen and leader.

Dick Black fought to save taxpayers money, end wasteful spending and improve transportation. Delegate Black protected us from excessive regulations when overreaching bureaucrats attempted to restrict our freedom.

From the time I first met him, he has exhibited the humble demeanor of a public servant. He was the only combat-wounded veteran in the Virginia General Assembly. His legislative leadership led to the construction of the vital Route 28 Freeway. He is a constant presence in public and community affairs.

Delegate Black's office was renowned for superior constituent service. Day or night, early or late, Dick Black and his friendly staff tirelessly served the citizens of Loudoun County.

There is widespread support among those I know for Dick Black to return to Richmond. Elect Dick Black--a proven leader in Richmond.

Eugene Delgaudio
Sterling Supervisor

(Created: Friday, 6 May 2011)

Washington, D.C. – Today Anne Carroll and Dr. Warren Carroll endorsed Dick Black for Virginia State Senate.

Black for Senate is honored by the endorsement of Dr. Warren Carroll, Founder of Christendom College and his wife, Anne Carroll, Founder of Seton School in Manassas:

Former Delegate Dick Black has our strongest possible endorsement for State Senate in the newly-formed 13th District. The district will include parts of Prince William and Loudoun Counties. Although he may compete with two other fine gentlemen for this position, I’ve known Dick Black for many years, and I believe he is head-and-shoulders above his competitors.

Dick Black is a bold and unwavering defender of our values. He passed the Parental Consent Bill—the most far-reaching pro-life legislation in Virginia history. Delegate Bob Marshall is a passionate supporter of Delegate Black. Together, they worked for school choice, fought for lower taxes, and upheld constitutional principles. They have been Virginia’s foremost defenders of the unborn and of traditional marriage.

Please vote to elect Dick Black for State Senate in the 13th District.

John Whitbeck Endorses Dick Black

By Dick Black
(Created: Friday, 1 Apr 2011)

Washington, D.C. – “It is my privilege to endorse Dick Black for Senate in the 22nd District. What strikes me most about Dick is his commitment to his family and conservative values, and we will be lucky to have his leadership again in the Senate. Dick has been serving Virginia for a long time, and as a veteran of eight contested elections, he is a great role model for me and Republican candidates. Dick has the right philosophy on the issues that matter most to Virginia families such as transportation, growing our economy and keeping taxes low. Dick will work as hard in the Senate as he did for us in the House of Delegates for many years.”

FRC Action PAC Endorses Dick Black

By Dick Black
(Created: Friday, 25 Mar 2011)

Washington, D.C. – Today FRC Action PAC, the political action committee connected to the Family Research Council, endorses Dick Black for Virginia State Senate.

Dick Black is taking on Sen. Mark Herring, an incumbent who has a 100% rating with NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia. Last year, Senator Herring voted against a bill that would limit taxpayer funded abortions. Just last month, Herring voted against a measure that would create common sense health standards, similar to hospitals, for abortion clinics. He voted against these regulations even though recent events, inside and outside of Virginia, point to the need for them. Connie Mackey, President of FRC Action PAC, said: “Loudoun County needs a new State Senator and Dick Black is the man for the job.”

Dick Black took principled conservative stands while a delegate to the General Assembly and has a strong track record on the issues of life and the family. In the General Assembly, Black took the lead on the initiative to prohibit abortions on minors without their parents’ consent. He was also a key player in the bill that banned Partial Birth Abortion in Virginia years ago. Dick Black meets and exceeds the qualifications to place confidence in him as a capable and passionate Virginia Senator.

“FRC Action PAC supports Dick Black as a strong advocate for the issues that uphold and strengthen the family and the community. We are pleased to support his candidacy.”

FRC Action PAC is the political action committee connected to FRC Action, a 501(c)(4) membership organization. FRC Action is the legislative advocacy arm of the Family Research Council, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Paid for by Family Research Council Action PAC (www.frcactionpac.org) and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.
